M.U.S.T.: Central Plant Steering. Data Transparency at all Levels

SwissTex France has always been an innovative partner for yarn production factory management. M.U.S.T. (Monitoring Unit System for Textile) offers the best solution for instant knowledge of machine data and packages traceability. Thanks to a comprehensive reporting, M.U.S.T. offers a tool for managers to have an overview of process information, production results and quality control data, at all levels.

Flexible and Modular

M.U.S.T. is a flexible and modular software able to meet users needs and applicable to any kind of yarn production machines for Industrial, Tire, Carpet, Glass, Fine Count DTY, Weaving looms and Heat Setting.M.U.S.T. is designed to display data, instantaneously, on machine, workstation or wallboard. It allows the printing of reports/graphics, the export of data, the scanning of bar coded labels with hand held computer and newly the Radio Frequency IDentification. Also, M.U.S.T. features an open SQL database to interface information with Computer Integrated Manufacturing systems. The database can also store unlimited recipes number thus allowing uploading/downloading to the SwissTex France machines.

Extensive list of modules available

With M.U.S.T., users now have a reliable starting point for plant optimization thanks to main modules such as:

  • “Efficiency Monitoring”,
  • “Product Management”,
  • “Shift Management”,
  • “Bar Coded Label  Management”,
  • “Maintenance Management”,
  • “Plant Displaying”,
  • “Quality Control Monitoring”,
  • “Setting Parameters Up/Downloading”.
  • “Radio Frequency IDentification”.
  • “Instant Energy Control”  (Newly)
  • “Instant Drying Temperature Control Control”  (Newly)
For an improved energy cost control, SwissTex France provides a new M.U.S.T. software module thus providing an instant control of energy consumption per product/shift/crew/machine/shopfloor.

Information System Component

Machines may exchange data with the M.U.S.T. system, which is then integrated in the company data system. The goal is to provide several levels of management. Today, increasing numbers of production managers are located in remote offices and need to be able to interact with the production machines in order, for example, to check a parameter in the process specification, change production quantity or query some quality measurements. Using the M.U.S.T. replication process, a remote database helps managers to operate the consolidated system through their corporate intranet.
